Space Rental

The West End Well is located in Hintonburg, a few steps east of the LCBO, where Somerset and Wellington meet. SuzyQ Doughnuts operates on the main floor, and the door to the West End Well’s space on the 2nd floor is located on the left-hand side of the front of the building.

We offer reasonably priced rental rates for your next workshop, celebration, or event. Because management of the space has been taken over by one of our non-profit tenants, there is not HST for space rentals!

Front Room

The Front Meeting Room is best suited for small- and medium-sized groups. With large, south-facing windows, it is located at the front of the building and overlooks Somerset Square. This room is ideal for meetings, workshops, and presentations as well as informal gatherings.

If necessary, mobile wood panels are used to separate the meeting room from the open office space beside it. While the whole space is normally quiet, the office space is used during business hours and may occasionally be used on weeknights and weekends. If you need absolute privacy and silence for your event on an evening or weekend, we suggest you choose the Extended Meeting Room.

This room is located on the second floor, which is not wheelchair accessible.

There are two washrooms on the second floor.

On evenings and weekends, the Front Meeting Room can be extended to accommodate larger groups. With large, south-facing windows, it is located at the front of the building and overlooks Somerset Square. This room is ideal for meetings, workshops, presentations, and standing events.

This room is on the second floor, which is not wheelchair accessible.

There are two washrooms on the second floor.

Room dimensions: 27’ X 15 ½’ (front meeting room) + 19’ x 22 ½’ (additional space).

F.A.Q.

Where is the West End Well located?

It is at 969 Wellington Street West in Hintonburg, a few steps east of the LCBO, where Somerset and Wellington meet. The door to the West End Well’s second-floor space is at the front of the building, on the left-hand side.

 

Can I rent space for my event?

Absolutely! We rent part of the second-floor space to like-minded groups, members, and individuals, for business meetings, birthday celebrations, community events, and other functions. If you are interested check out our space rental page and the FAQ’s below.

 

When can I rent this space?

The Front Meeting Room is available on weekdays, evening, and weekends. The Extended Meeting Room is available on evening and weekends.

 

Evening rentals run from 5 to 9 pm. In special cases, we can rent the space until 10:00 pm for an extra $10.

 

How do I rent a room?

First, determine your rental needs on the rentals page. Then, check the availability on our online calendar. We try to keep this calendar up to date, but please contact Kathryn, our Bookings Manager (rentals@westendwell.ca) to confirm that it’s available.

 

We invite you to visit the space before booking.

 

We require 50% of the rental cost upon booking.

 

I am a non-profit/a member/a volunteer. Can I get a special rate?

While trying to accommodate minimal budgets, we also need to cover own costs. Our prices have been calculated to remain accessible without jeopardizing our business, so we generally cannot provide a lower price: however, certain groups that have a relationship with one or more of our non-profit tenants may be elligible in certain situations. How do I pay?

You need to pay 50% of the rental cost to secure the booking. This is best done using PayPal. We will send you a request for payment. 

 

You may pay the remainder on the day of the event, using cash or a cheque.

 

What happens if I need to cancel?

There is no fee for cancellations made at least 10 days before an event is scheduled to be held. After that time, cancellations incur a $25.00 administrative fee.

 

What equipment is available?

Some equipment is available for free:

Is there parking available?

There are over 35 parking spots near the building. There’s also an OC Transit Stop outside our front door on Somerset Square, and lots of bike racks.

Who is responsible for the set up and clean up?

Someone will be here to open and close the room for you. This person will also show you where the equipment is and answer any questions you may have about the room’s set up and clean up.

 

You are in charge of setting up the room and of leaving the space as you found it. This space is used by a number of groups and individuals, as well as permanent tenants, so renters must help maintain the common areas in a neat and professional manner.

 

The rental time must include the time you need to set up and clean up the room. The person who opens and closes the room for you doesn’t work or live on the premises.

 

Note: We charge the double the hourly rate for any time in excess of the pre-booked time. This money is used to compensate our employee for the time they spent waiting for the renter to vacate the space.

 

We strongly recommend that you book a bit of extra time so you don’t have to cut your event short. It’s a good investment! It helps ensure a smooth event as well as peace of mind for you and your guests.

 

May I decorate the space?

Yes! That is, provided the decorations don’t damage or mark any surfaces. Please ensure that your decorating set up and clean up happen during your rented hours. All decorations must be removed during clean up. 

 

Is there free Wi-Fi?

Absolutely! The password will be shared upon your arrival.
